Troubleshooting

Start with /setup-check. It lists what's set up, what's missing and which permissions Journo needs.

Journo doesn't reply or post in a channel

The channel probably blocks Journo. Give the Journo role View Channel, Send Messages and Embed Links in that channel. For tickets, it also needs Create Private Threads and Send Messages in Threads.

Journo can't give a role

Open Server Settings > Roles and drag the Journo role above the role it should give. Discord only lets bots give roles below their own.

New commands don't show up

Discord can take a little while to show new commands. Reload Discord (Ctrl+R, or Cmd+R on a Mac). Also check Server Settings > Integrations > Journo in case a command was hidden for some roles.

"Needs the Standard plan or higher"

That feature isn't on your current plan. /plan view shows what your plan includes. See Plans and billing.

The help desk says it doesn't know

It only answers from what you've taught it. Add the missing information with /kb add-text, /kb add-file or /kb add-url, then ask again.

The AI watch isn't doing anything

Check in /watch status that it's switched on, that the channel is on its list, and whether practice mode is on (in practice mode it only reports). Staff and exempt roles are never checked.

Pictures don't work

Pictures start at Standard. Check /image-usage for the monthly and daily limits, whether there's a wait between pictures, and whether pictures are limited to some channels or roles in /settings > AI images.

The DM didn't arrive

Members who have closed their DMs won't get messages from Journo, such as welcome messages, application results or AI watch notices. They can allow DMs from server members in their privacy settings.

A payment shows as paid on PayPal but nothing happened

Journo checks for new payments every 20 seconds. If nothing happens after a minute, ask an admin to check the payments log, or contact the support server with the PayPal order ID.
