Shop and memberships

The shop is how your community helps the server grow. Put a variety of options up for sale, such as new game scripts, custom features, perks, roles and services, and members show their support by buying what they'd like to see. Your share of every sale goes back into the server.

/shop puts everything members can buy in one place, in this order:

  1. Memberships: a monthly payment through PayPal that gives a role.
  2. Coin packages: coins bought through PayPal.
  3. Items bought with coins.
  4. Items bought with activity points.

If a member is short of coins, the shop offers a PayPal top-up and buys the item for them as soon as the payment clears.

Members pay on PayPal's own site, so Journo never sees card or bank details.

Set it up

  1. Switch payments on in /settings > Payments, and pick a private channel to log payments for staff (Log payments here).
  2. Add what you sell:
    • /payments tier-add: a membership with a name, a monthly price and the role it gives, plus optional coins every month.
    • /payments package-add: a coin package with a name, a price and how many coins.
    • /shop-admin add: an item bought with coins or activity points. It can give a role for a number of days, and can have limited stock.
  3. Optional: run /settings in a channel, pick Shop and press Post a shop button here so members can open the shop with one click.

/shop-admin list shows everything with its number, and /shop-admin remove removes an item. /payments package-remove and /payments tier-remove stop selling a package or membership; existing members keep their membership until they cancel.

Memberships

PayPal charges members every month by itself. If someone stops paying or cancels, Journo removes the role. Members see or cancel their memberships with /membership status and join with /membership join.

Refunds

Refunds are done in PayPal. After refunding a coin purchase, run /payments reverse with its PayPal order ID (shown in your payments log). That takes back exactly those coins and the server's share.

/payments overview shows products, members and income for the last 30 days.

Plans

The points shop starts at Standard. The coin shop, coin packages and memberships start at Plus. How shop sales are shared depends on your plan: see Payouts.
