Make it yours
Themes
A theme changes four things at once: how the AI talks, the style of its pictures, how letters are made, and what your two currencies are called. It also sets the colour of Journo's messages.
Journo starts in the neutral Standard theme, which suits any server.
Pick a theme
- Run
/config themeand pick one, or - In
/settings> Theme and AI voice, choose from the ready-made themes menu.
Applying a theme only changes the theme's own settings. Everything else stays as it was. You can then fine-tune any single value, for example /config set economy.coins_name Gems.
Describe your server
Whatever theme you pick, describe your server in a sentence or two in /settings > Theme and AI voice, or with /config set theme.setting. For example:
- A friendly Rocket League community for UK players
- A medieval roleplay server set in 1403 Bohemia, no magic
The AI uses this for answers, pictures, letter rewrites and the AI watch, so it understands your community's language.

Your own look
You don't have to use a ready-made theme. In Theme and AI voice you can write your own art style, things pictures should avoid, and how the AI should sound. In Letters you can pick paper, ink and seal colours and fonts.
See every theme's letter, opened and sealed, in the theme showcase, and the letter styles in Sealed letters.
About the Venturing theme
Venturing is for adventure and hobby communities: camping, fishing, drone flying, diving, road trips and driving, trains, boats and planes, learning games and quizzes, and games of chance such as card nights and dice, played for Miles and Trail Tokens only. Its AI talks like an upbeat expedition guide, its pictures look like vintage travel posters, and its letters are field-journal pages in an air mail envelope. Real-money gambling is never encouraged.
About the Tactical / Military theme
Tactical uses stencil headings, typewritten memo letters in security-taped manila envelopes, olive colours, XP and Dog Tags as currency names, and a radio-operator voice. Its pictures avoid gore, real flags, real military insignia and characters from existing games. The AI watch is told that kills, headshots and "I'll wipe you next round" are game talk, so normal shooter chat isn't punished as a threat.
