Help your members

Help desk

Teach Journo what your members keep asking about: paste text, upload a .txt, .md, .pdf or .html file, or give it a web page such as your wiki or rules page. Staff can also right-click any message and choose Apps > Teach the assistant.

Members ask with /ask, or just ask in channels you pick. By default Journo only answers from what you taught it, and says it doesn't know rather than making something up.

Plans: Free: 1 knowledge source and 500 answers a month. Standard: 5 sources, unlimited answers. Plus and Premium: unlimited.

Support tickets

Post a ticket panel and members open a private thread with one button. Make ticket forms (Billing, Bug report, Report a member...) with their own questions in any of 13 field types, their own staff roles and their own AI switch. Journo writes the first reply from your knowledge base.

A human is called in when a member presses Talk to a human, after three AI replies that didn't solve it (you can change the number), when a quick AI check spots a complex or upset ticket, or when the ticket mentions words you choose, such as refund or ban appeal. Closed tickets send a transcript to your log channel.

Plans: Tickets a month: Free 3, Standard 100, Plus and Premium unlimited. AI first replies start at Standard.

Application forms

Start from an example or write your questions one per line, with a tag for the answer type: short or long text, single or multiple choice, dropdown, number, yes/no, checkbox, date, email, URL, member, role or file upload. Answers are checked, and Preview as a member lets you try the form first.

Applications arrive in your review channel with Accept and Reject buttons. Journo gives or removes the roles you chose and can tell the applicant the result by DM.

Plans: Free: 3 forms. Standard: 10 forms. Plus and Premium: unlimited.

Welcome and verification

Greet new members in a channel of your choice, send an optional private welcome message, and give everyone a starting role. You can also say goodbye when someone leaves.

Turn on verification and new members press a Verify button, usually after reading your rules, before they can see the rest of the server.

Plans: Every plan.

AI watch

Write your rules in plain words and pick the channels to watch. The AI checks each message against your rules and gives a strike when one is broken.

You decide what each strike does with a punishment ladder, for example: warn, warn, warn, lose 50 activity points, a 1 hour timeout, then a kick. Start in practice mode: Journo reports what it would do without punishing anyone, so you can tune your rules first. Every report has a Pardon button that gives back points and lifts timeouts. Staff are never checked.

Plans: Every plan. Checks an hour: Free 100, Standard 500, Plus 2,000, Premium 10,000.

Moderation

Automatic moderation removes blocked words, invite links to other servers and messages that mention too many people, and times out spammers. It can flag or kick very new accounts, and logs edited and deleted messages.

Staff tools cover warnings, timeouts and clearing messages. After a number of warnings you choose, Journo can time out or kick the member.

Plans: Every plan.

Rewards

Journo has two currencies, on purpose. Activity points are free: members earn them by chatting, with /daily and from quests, and spend them in the points shop, on raffles and on community goals. Coins are bought with real money through PayPal and spent on digital goods in your shop. Each theme gives them its own names.

Run raffles with activity points for any reward you want to hand out: a role, points, or a prize you describe. Coins can never be used to enter raffles, and every entrant gets exactly one ticket, so the odds are always equal. This is fixed in the code, not a setting.

Plans: Points, /daily and raffles on every plan. Role prizes in raffles from Standard. Streak bonuses and leaderboards from Plus. Community goals on Premium.

Quests

Every server starts with base quests: vote for Journo on top.gg and send 10 messages each day; react to 50 messages, invite a friend, donate, send a gift, chip in to a hype train, and post or comment on suggestions and bug reports each week. Switch any off, remove it or change the reward.

On Plus and up, add your own quests for messages, reactions, /daily, invites, gifts, donations, hype trains or poll votes. Invites only count for real new members, and points from paid quests can't enter raffles.

Plans: Base quests on every plan. Your own quests from Plus.

Polls

Write the question and up to 10 answers, then choose a duration or an end date and time, single or multiple choice and a maximum, anonymous voting, hidden or public results, vote changes, which roles or channels may vote, and how results show: bars, percentages or counts.

Simple polls use Discord's own poll; anything more runs as a Journo poll with a vote menu, up to 90 days. Results are posted when it ends and kept for AI growth advice.

Plans: Polls running at once: Free 2, Standard 5, Plus and Premium unlimited.

Themed AI art

/imagine paints a scene and /portrait paints a character in a frame with their name. An Another version button tries again.

Before each picture, the AI turns the member's request into a clear art brief in your server's style. On a themed server, harmless off-theme requests are adapted rather than refused: on a medieval server, a car becomes a horse-drawn cart. You set monthly and daily limits, a cooldown and who can use it.

Plans: Pictures a month: Standard 150, Plus 500, Premium 2,000. Not on Free.

Sealed letters

/letter draws a real-looking letter in your theme's style: modern stationery, medieval vellum with a hanging seal, a frontier letter, a typewritten military dossier, a royal charter, arcane parchment, a ship's letter, a hologram or an expedition journal. Only the person it's addressed to (or staff) can press Break the seal.

Letters can be delivered privately by DM, or left in a letters channel for whoever breaks the seal first. The AI can rewrite a letter in your server's style if the writer asks.

Plans: Every plan.

Fund and grow

Donations

Members donate any amount with /donate, or tap an amount button on your donation panel. They can add a message or give anonymously. Donations go towards developing and improving Journo, adding new tools and features.

There's nothing to configure: you only deploy the panel with /donate-panel, and donors are thanked there. On Free and Standard you get 5% of donations made while it's up, paid out. Members pay on PayPal's own site, so Journo never sees card or bank details.

Plans: Every plan. Free and Standard owners get 5% of donations made on their deployed panel. Points from donating can be spent on anything except raffle entries.

Hype trains

The plan train lets members fund the next plan up for a month, or keep Premium going; it pays for the plan itself. On Plus and Premium a second train funds an item from your shop, everyone who chipped in gets it, and you earn your usual share like any shop sale.

Community goals (Premium) do the same with activity points or coins, with a role for everyone who helped. Hype trains count towards a weekly quest too.

Plans: Plan train on every plan. Shop train from Plus. Community goals on Premium.

Shop and memberships

The shop is how your community helps the server grow. Put a variety of options up for sale, such as new game scripts, custom features, perks, roles and services, and members show their support by buying what they want to see. /shop shows everything in one place: monthly memberships that give a role, coin packages, items bought with coins and items bought with activity points.

If a member is short of coins, the shop offers a PayPal top-up and buys the item as soon as the payment clears. Memberships renew through PayPal each month, and Journo removes the role if someone stops paying or cancels.

Choose how you hear about sales: a staff channel with roles to ping, a public thank-you channel and a receipt by DM. You earn up to 99% of coin and membership sales, paid out to your PayPal.

Plans: Points shop from Standard. Coin shop, coin packages and memberships from Plus. You keep 92% on Plus and 99% on Premium.

Member insights

Pick channels and forums to listen to, plus your suggestion and bug report channels. Every few hours the AI reads new messages and keeps only those that say something useful: a request, an idea, a complaint, a bug, a question that shows something is missing, or praise. /insights feedback shows suggestions and bug reports on their own, and admins can remove any finding.

Each becomes a one-line summary filed under a topic, with how many members raised it and the mood. Message text is deleted once it's read. Premium adds trends, a per-channel view, a weekly digest, alerts when a topic suddenly grows, and a CSV export.

Plans: Plus: 5 channels, 1,500 messages a day, findings kept 30 days, read every 6 hours. Premium: unlimited channels, 15,000 messages a day, 180 days, every hour, plus extended monitoring.

AI growth advice

/insights advise combines what members are asking for with your activity numbers (messages, active members, joins and leaves, busiest channels), poll results, applications, tickets by kind, quests completed, raffles, shop spending and hype trains.

It gives a few concrete suggestions, each with the evidence, first steps, likely impact and effort. A good loop: advice suggests something, a poll checks members want it, insights show how it lands.

Plans: Plus: 3 a day. Premium: 20 a day, plus a weekly digest with advice.

From Standard it shows statistics: messages a day, active members, joins and leaves, tickets, applications, polls, quests and your busiest channels. From Plus it adds what your community is asking for.

Plans: Settings on every plan. Statistics from Standard, community needs from Plus.

Guided tour and settings

When Journo joins a server it posts a guided tour for admins. Each step explains one feature and has a Set this up button that opens the right settings. /tutorial brings it back.

/settings opens every setting in pop-up windows with room to write. /config is there for quick one-line changes, plain-English explanations of any setting, and backups you can load into another server. /setup-check lists anything still missing.
