Member insights

Plus and up. Member insights read the channels you choose and find what members wish for: requests, ideas, complaints, questions that show something is missing, and praise. Each finding becomes a one-line neutral summary, filed under a topic such as Ranked matches or Event times, so you can see what comes up most and how people feel about it.

Set it up

  1. Run /insights setup and switch insights on.
  2. In each channel or forum to listen to, run /insights listen, or run /settings there, pick Member insights and press Listen to this channel. Threads and forum posts inside it count too.
  3. Tell your members (see Privacy below).

Every 6 hours on Plus, and every hour on Premium, the AI reads the new messages. /insights analyze reads them now instead of waiting.

Reading the results

  • /insights overview: the top topics, how many members raised each, and the mood. Premium adds trends against the previous period and where comments come from.
  • /insights topic: everything said about one topic, with links back to the messages.
  • /insights advise: suggestions on where to take the server next. See AI growth advice.

Suggestions and bug reports

Pick your suggestion and bug report channels or forums in /settings > Suggestions and bug reports, and member insights reads them too, even if they aren't among the channels you listen to. Every finding remembers where it came from:

  • /insights overview shows how many findings came from suggestions and bug reports.
  • /insights feedback shows the suggestions or the bug reports grouped by topic, with links to the posts.
  • Switch Read with AI insights off in that settings area to stop reading them; the suggestion and bug report quests keep working.

Removing findings

Admins can delete findings with /insights remove: one message's finding (paste its link), a whole topic, or everything from suggestions, bug reports or chat. Each removal is noted in your bot log channel.

Premium extras

  • A weekly digest with advice, posted in a channel you choose.
  • An alert when a topic suddenly grows.
  • /insights export: all findings as a CSV file for Excel or Google Sheets.

Privacy

  • A message's text is kept only until the AI has read it, then deleted. Messages waiting to be read are deleted after 7 days at most.
  • What stays is the short summary, its topic, the author's ID (to count how many different members raised something) and a link to the message.
  • Findings are deleted after 30 days on Plus and 180 days on Premium.
  • Staff messages are skipped unless you switch them on. Very short messages are ignored.

Because this reads members' messages, tell your members. The easiest way: in /settings > Guardrails, press Post an AI notice here in your rules channel. It lists the channels Journo reads and how long summaries are kept. If you have members in the UK or EU, mention it in your privacy notice too.
