Getting started
Settings and /config
Every setting in Journo can be changed from inside Discord. There are two ways.
/settings: pop-up windows
Run /settings and pick an area from the menu, such as Tickets or AI watch. You'll see every setting in that area. Then:
- Press Edit to change settings in a pop-up window with room to write. Lists, such as rules or blocked words, are one item per line. Channels and roles are picked from lists, so you never need IDs. Changes apply straight away.
- Press the green start here button to start that feature in the channel you're in. Run
/settingsin the channel you want first.
If something you typed isn't valid, Journo saves the rest and shows a Fix it button that reopens the window with your typing kept.
/settings area:tickets jumps straight to one area.
What the green button does in each area

Allowing pictures or letters in a channel means only the channels on that list can use them. To allow them everywhere again, empty the list with Edit.
/config: quick changes and backups
/config is handy for one-line changes and for things the windows don't cover:
/config theme: apply a ready-made theme./config set: change one setting, for example/config set polls.default_hours 48. Every number has a safe range (see Guardrails). For lists,+wordadds and-wordremoves./config channeland/config role: set a channel or role setting. For lists, run it again to remove./config view: show the settings in one area./config explain: a plain-English description of any setting./config reset: put a setting back to its default./config exportand/config import: back up all settings to a file, or copy them to another server.
/setup-check
Shows a checklist: what's set up, what's missing, and which permissions Journo still needs.
